An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball excellent in abrasion resistance, durability and resilience, and a method for producing the same. The present invention uses a cover composition containing a thermoplastic polyurethane and a heat-reactive microcapsule encapsulating polyisocyanate so that the polyisocyanate is encapsulated in the microcapsule during cover molding. In this way, the cross-linking reaction between the polyisocyanate and the thermoplastic polyurethane is suppressed to maintain the moldability of the cover, and the polyisocyanate is released from the microcapsule after the cover is formed, thereby promoting the cross-linking reaction with the thermoplastic polyurethane. There is a gist in that the urethane cover obtained in this way improves the scratch resistance, durability and resilience. [Selection figure] None |
