Lincomycin derivatives with antibacterial activity |
abstract |
Novel lincomycin derivatives are disclosed. These lincomycin derivatives exhibit antibacterial activity. The compounds of the subject invention are useful antibacterial agents because they exhibit potent activity against bacteria (including gram positive bacteria). Methods for the synthesis and use of these compounds are also disclosed. The compounds, tautomers, prodrugs and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the present invention may have activity against bacteria, protozoa, fungi and parasites. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and one or more therapeutically effective amounts of a compound of the present invention. |
