PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion method for uniformly dispersing zinc oxide in a thermoplastic resin and a method for producing composite particles having both high transparency and ultraviolet shielding properties. SOLUTION: A method for dispersing zinc oxide in a thermoplastic resin, in which zinc oxide is mixed and dispersed in a thermoplastic resin in a molten state using a vibration stirrer, and in this dispersion method, oxidation is performed. A process for producing composite particles in which a hot melt mixture obtained by dispersing zinc in a thermoplastic resin is sprayed into a refrigerant at a temperature of 10 ° C. or more lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin to cool and solidify.
