abstract A whisker-forming body, a heat sink, an electrode, an electrochemical capacitor, and a whisker-forming body that can be easily manufactured, have a very large surface area, and are excellent in thermal conductivity, conductivity, and durability. A whisker-forming body comprising a whisker composed of a head including a metal element included in a base and a trunk mainly composed of aluminum on the surface of the base made of an alloy or ceramics. A whisker forming body is used, the base body functions as a heat absorbing portion, and the whisker is a heat sink that functions as a heat radiating portion. A whisker forming body is used, and the base is an electrode containing two kinds of metals selected from Mn, V, Fe, Cu, Ni, Cr, Al, Sn, Zn, In, Nd, Sc, Co, Ti, and Mo. . A substrate made of an alloy or ceramic is heat-treated in an inert gas atmosphere to grow whiskers mainly composed of aluminum on the surface to obtain a whisker-formed body. [Selection figure] None
