abstract A cobalt oxyhydroxide particle containing Mg in a solid solution state and a method for producing the same are provided. Cobalt oxyhydroxide particles containing Mg in a solid solution state according to the present invention are prepared by adding an alkaline aqueous solution to a divalent Co salt aqueous solution containing Mg salt and stirring the mixture, in the presence of an oxidation catalyst and air. It is obtained by oxidation by contact and precipitation as spherical particles. [Selection] Figure 1
