(57) Abstract: A novel lithium cobaltate aggregate having a balanced performance, having improved stability and safety without impairing battery characteristics as a battery material, and a novel cobalt used for the production thereof. Provided are an oxide aggregate, a method for producing the same, and a lithium battery using the lithium cobaltate aggregate as a positive electrode active material. SOLUTION: When primary particles having an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 5 μm aggregate to form a lithium cobaltate aggregate having an average particle diameter of 1 to 30 μm as secondary particles, the aggregate is used as a positive electrode active material.
