The present invention provides a resin composition for encapsulating a semiconductor in which the cured product has an effective electromagnetic wave shielding function and exhibits good moldability. A resin composition for encapsulating a semiconductor containing spherical sintered ferrite particles having the following characteristics (a) to (c). (A) The content of soluble ions is 5 ppm or less. (B) The average particle diameter is in the range of 10 to 50 μm. (C) The crystal structure by X-ray diffraction shows a spinel structure.
