titleOfInvention Alkaline storage battery and method of manufacturing the same
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline storage battery capable of obtaining a high output by optimizing the amount of cobalt in a nickel electrode and reducing the resistance in the nickel electrode. The alkaline storage battery of the present invention includes a nickel positive electrode 11 in which a positive electrode active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide is held on a conductive substrate made of nickel foam. And the nickel hydroxide used as a positive electrode active material is the particle | grains by which the surface was coat | covered with the cobalt compound, and the addition ratio of all the cobalt compounds added to the positive electrode active material is the mass ratio with a metal component with respect to nickel 100. Cobalt is 14% by mass or more and 21% by mass or less, and the ratio of the total volume (m 3 ) of the positive electrode active material to the surface area (m 2 ) of the conductive substrate is 0.3 × 10 −6 m or more. And 0.7 × 10 −6 m or less. [Selection] Figure 1
