abstract The present invention provides a stainless coloring method and a coloring processing solution for stainless steel that can be processed with a simple apparatus without using harmful chromium compounds, have little color unevenness, and are inexpensive. As a treatment liquid preparation step, an aqueous solution of potassium permanganate, an aqueous solution of cobalt nitrate, and an aqueous solution of potassium nitrate are prepared, and a colored treatment liquid for stainless steel is prepared by mixing these three kinds of aqueous solutions in equal volumes. Next, as a coloring step, the SUS304 plate is subjected to a heat treatment at 300 ° C. for 1 hour in an air atmosphere, and then immersed in a coloring treatment solution for stainless steel heated to 50 ° C.
