Providing growth inhibitors for harmful microorganisms as well as plant pathogens. The use of a rare sugar to induce systemic acquired resistance of plants or to suppress the growth of microorganisms. Pesticides, plant disease inhibitors, plant growth regulator inducers using the effects of induction of systemic acquired resistance of plants (disease resistance, insect resistance, fruit ripening, dormancy breaking, germination regulation, drought tolerance, etc. A plant hormone-like action inducer consisting of low temperature resistance, high temperature resistance, salt resistance, heavy metal resistance and other environmental stress resistance and flowering promotion), and use as a microorganism growth inhibitor. The rare sugar is (aldose D-allose, D-altrose or L-galactose) or ketose (D-psicose, or a mixture of D-psicose and D-fructose). [Selection] Figure 1
