An object of the present invention is to provide a substance having an effect of amplifying disease resistance to plants, which has the potential to dramatically reduce the amount of pesticides used. A rare sugar which is recognized as a foreign substance by a plant, activates a group of plant resistance genes, and has an action of promoting an increase in resistance to pathogenic bacteria and pests. The rare sugar is preferably D-psicose. Use of the above rare sugar as a plant disease resistance amplifier. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
