abstract |
The present invention relates to conjugates and methods for in vivo imaging of apoptosis using a conjugate of a fluorescent dye and a moiety that specifically binds to apoptotic cells. In certain embodiments, the fluorescent dye is conjugated to a moiety that emits near-infrared fluorescence and specifically binds to apoptotic cells, such as annexin A5 or synaptotagmin. The method is non-invasive and can be used to obtain images of apoptotic cells in tissues of living animals such as mammals such as humans. |
