abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disperse a layered silicate uniformly in a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin, and at the same time to enable extrusion foaming without breaking bubbles, improving the mechanical strength and heat resistance, etc. A resin foam and a method for producing the same are provided. SOLUTION: A mixture obtained by adding 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a layered silicate and 0.1 to 3 parts by weight of a polyfunctional epoxy compound to 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin is used as an extruder. Supply and melt-knead, press-fit 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of a foaming agent with respect to 100 parts by weight of the melt, and extrude the resulting foamable thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin composition through a die under low pressure Foam.
