titleOfInvention Developing device and image forming apparatus
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the particle size of a toner in an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic system in order to cope with high image quality. However, there are various problems, such as the fact that the toner remaining on the photosensitive drum tends to be poorly cleaned if the particle diameter is simply reduced. SOLUTION: Small particles having a volume average particle size DV of 1 μm <volume average particle size DV <7 μm, circularity of 0.9 <circularity <0.97, and particle size distribution of DV × 0.5 (μm) or less. A toner having a diameter component of 20% or less by number% and a large particle diameter component of DV × 2 (μm) or more by volume% of 1% or less is used, and the surface of the developing roller 51 is 10 points average surface roughness. Rz is formed such that 1 μm <Rz <volume average particle diameter DV. [Selection] Figure 2
