abstract | 【Task】 To provide a highly safe X-ray contrast agent that stabilizes liposomes and retains iodine-based compounds and enhances the retention of contrast compounds in blood to achieve efficient delivery and good targeting of contrast agents about. [Solution] The X-ray contrast agent of the present invention contains at least one compound selected from a compound having a polyalkylene oxide group and a sterol together with a phospholipid in a lipid membrane, and is water-soluble in the aqueous phase in the membrane. It includes liposomes encapsulating nonionic iodo compounds. The contrast agent of the present invention preferably contains an iodo compound and a formulation aid both in the aqueous phase inside the liposome membrane and in the aqueous medium in which the liposome is dispersed, and the concentration of each inside and outside the liposome membrane. Are substantially the same. Since the contrast agent of the present invention is produced by the supercritical carbon dioxide method, it does not substantially contain a toxic solvent such as a chlorinated solvent.
