Melanin degrading enzyme |
abstract |
An enzyme having high resolution for melanins and a safe and efficient melanin decomposition method using the enzyme are provided. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An enzyme that decomposes melanin without using manganese as an essential cofactor, has an optimum pH of 6 or less, and has a melanin degrading activity at pH 4.5 (specific activity U /). mg) is an enzyme whose peroxidase is twice or more of horseradish peroxidase, and a melanin decomposing method in which the enzyme acts on melanin in the presence of hydrogen peroxide.
