PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical resin material excellent in heat resistance and having little optical loss in the wavelength range for optical communication of 1.25 to 1.65 [mu] m, and an optical element and an optical module using the same. An optical resin material containing fluorinated polyoxazole or fluorinated polythiazole. An optical element such as an optical waveguide, a wavelength filter, an optical wavelength plate, and an optical polarizing plate obtained using the optical resin material, and an optical module using the optical element.
