A method and apparatus for generating drug particles using concentrated acoustic energy is provided. The solution of the drug is provided in a solvent, which may be an aqueous fluid, a non-aqueous fluid, or a supercritical fluid. To eject droplets of this solution, concentrated acoustic energy is used, which in turn, either in or in an anti-solvent, which when mixed with the solution droplets precipitates the drug in the droplet. Directed through. In a preferred embodiment, the solvent is an aqueous or organic liquid and the anti-solvent is a supercritical fluid. |
