titleOfInvention | Chimeric antisense of arabinofuranose analogs and deoxyribose nucleotides |
abstract | The present invention relates to novel oligonucleotide chimeras that are used as therapeutics to selectively block gene transcription and expression in a sequence-specific manner. In particular, the present invention provides protein biosynthesis by an antisense strategy using oligonucleotides constructed from arabinonucleotide residues or modified arabinonucleotide residues, flanked by a series of variable length deoxyribose nucleotide residues. It is directed to selectively inhibiting. In particular, the present invention relates to arabinonucleotide residues or modified flanking a series of variable length deoxyribose nucleotide residues for hybridizing to complementary RNA, such as cellular mRNA, viral RNA, and the like. It relates to the use of antisense oligonucleotides constructed from arabinonucleotide residues. More specifically, the present invention relates to arabinonucleotides flanked by a series of variable length deoxyribose nucleotide residues for hybridizing to complementary RNA and inducing its cleavage (by RNase H activation). The use of antisense oligonucleotides constructed from residues or modified arabinonucleotide residues. |
