titleOfInvention Carbon fiber and method for producing the same
abstract [Problem] To provide a carbon fiber having high industrial utility value by thermally decomposing hydrocarbons such as methane using a catalyst to thereby produce hydrogen without accompanying by-products of carbon dioxide, and to provide a method for producing the same. . The carbon fiber (3) according to the present invention is characterized in that carbon generated by a hydrocarbon molecule being adsorbed on catalytic metal particles (2) supported on the surface of a spherical carrier (1) and causing a decomposition reaction is converted into catalytic metal. These fibers are fibers that have been continuously precipitated at the interface between the particles (2) and the carrier, and have grown into crystals with the catalyst metal particles (2) at the tips.
