abstract A method for producing ultrafine titanium-containing oxide particles widely used in ceramic electronic components, wherein the titanium-containing oxide has an average particle diameter D50 of 20 nm or less and has excellent crystallinity. Provided are a method for producing ultrafine particles, and ultrafine titanium-containing oxide particles. A method for producing ultrafine titanium-containing oxide particles, comprising supplying at least a titanium raw material as a starting raw material into a plasma containing oxygen, and decomposing the supplied starting raw material in the plasma flame.
