abstract A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which suppresses battery swelling and has excellent load characteristics can be obtained. A lithium oxide composite compound, wherein the lithium cobaltate composite oxide has a tap density of 2.40 g / cm 3 or more. A method for producing a lithium cobaltate composite compound, comprising the following steps. First step: mixing cobalt oxyhydroxide and a lithium compound, and then calcining the mixture to produce lithium cobalt oxide. Second step: lithium cobalt oxide obtained in the first step, magnesium oxide, A second step of mixing at least one metal oxide selected from titanium oxide or zirconium oxide.
