titleOfInvention Alkaline storage battery
abstract Provided is an alkaline storage battery that prevents conductivity from being lowered even when charge / discharge cycles are repeated in a high-temperature atmosphere and has excellent high-temperature cycle characteristics. An alkaline storage battery according to the present invention includes a cobalt compound layer on a surface of a positive electrode active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide, and in the cobalt compound layer, selected from a niobium compound, a titanium compound, a tungsten compound, and a molybdenum compound. And at least one compound is added, the alkaline electrolyte mainly composed of potassium hydroxide contains lithium hydroxide, and the content of lithium hydroxide is 0.6 mol / L or more. It is 6 mol / L or less. This makes it possible to suppress the elution of the niobium compound, the titanium compound, the tungsten compound, and the molybdenum compound into the alkaline electrolyte, so that a favorable conductive network can be maintained.
