abstract SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The improved electroluminescent efficiency of organic light emitting diodes comprises an organometallic complex of a transition metal of the formula L 2 MX, where L and X are different bidentate ligands. Obtained using an emitter layer. The compounds of this formula can be synthesized more easily than by conventional methods, and the free choice of synthesis allows the insertion of fluorescent molecules into the phosphorescent complex and the coordination for fine control of the emission color. Insertion of ligands for trapping elements and carriers can be performed.
