abstract (57) [Problem] To provide an element transfer method which enables efficient transfer and is suitable for mass production. SOLUTION: In transferring an element arranged on a first substrate onto a second substrate, the elements are arranged on the first substrate via a photocatalyst layer and an organic material layer, and are irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Thus, the element is separated from the first substrate. As the first substrate, a transparent substrate that transmits ultraviolet light is used. The photocatalyst layer contains, for example, titanium oxide as a material having a photocatalytic action. The organic material layer contains, for example, polyimide as an organic material. Irradiation with ultraviolet light is performed using an ultraviolet lamp unit, and irradiation is performed collectively according to the element to be transferred.
