abstract (57) [Summary] [Problem] Except for rare earth magnets using fixed abrasive wire saws Provided is a water-soluble working fluid composition that is excellent in cutting a working material. SOLUTION: This composition is characterized by containing (A) glycols (propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol and the like), and further comprises (B) carboxylic acid (oleic acid, dodecanoic acid and the like) and (C) water And a compound formed by dissolving in water and showing basicity. (A) The molecular weight of the glycols is preferably from 70 to 100,000. (B) The carboxylic acid preferably has 8 to 22 carbon atoms. As the basic compound (C), alkanolamine, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and the like are preferable. When cutting silicon, it is preferable that the pH when the working fluid composition is diluted 10 times with water is 5.5 to 9.5.
