abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] The present invention aims at utilizing mesenchymal stem cells for tissue regenerative medicine, and under practical conditions, significantly more mesenchymal cells than conventional culture methods. Disclosed is a novel method for culturing mesenchymal stem cells from which a stem cell can be obtained. SOLUTION: By culturing mesenchymal stem cells in the presence of a basement membrane extracellular matrix, for example, by culturing the mesenchymal stem cells on a culture dish coated with a basement membrane extracellular matrix, Lineage stem cells proliferate remarkably fast, can maintain the ability to differentiate into osteoblasts, chondrocytes, or adipocytes, can be effectively proliferated even at low concentrations of serum, and can be cultured using human serum. It has been found that it is possible and that excellent differentiation-inducing culture is possible. Furthermore, even if the culture is performed with a low concentration of serum by adding various additives to the medium, the growth ability and the differentiation ability can be maintained.
