abstract (57) Abstract: A 1,3-disubstituted-4-oxo cyclic urea of the general formula (I) wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are nil, Cl, F, Br, NH 2 , R 2 is independently selected from the group consisting of NO 2 , COOH, CH 3 SO 2 NH, SO 3 H, OH, alkoxy, alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxyalkyl, carboxyalkyl, and acyloxy; A is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkylacyl and heteroalkyl, and A is a substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, composed of 1 to 7 carbon atoms. Is an alkyl or alkenylamino group, or A is a 5-, 6- or 7-membered substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated heteroatom containing at least one nitrogen. In and, R 4 is attached to the nitrogen. Wherein the 1,3-disubstituted-4-oxocyclic urea is prepared without isolation of an intermediate, and Ia) in the presence of a mild base and a solvent. Reacting a 1-substituted-4-oxocyclic urea with a carbon chain containing at least two leaving groups to form an adduct containing at least one leaving group; and (Ib) adding the Condensing the product with an amine to form a 1,3-disubstituted-4-oxocyclic urea; and (II) recovering the 1,3-disubstituted-4-oxocyclic urea.
