abstract (57) [Problem] To improve the utilization rate of nickel hydroxide in a non-sintered positive electrode of an alkaline storage battery and maintain the utilization rate for a long time. Further, the present invention provides an alkaline storage battery excellent in both capacity recovery after overdischarge and utilization of nickel hydroxide. A non-sintered positive electrode containing an active material made of nickel hydroxide, a negative electrode containing a hydrogen storage alloy or cadmium, and an alkaline storage battery having an alkaline electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode further has conductivity. An alkaline storage battery comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide fibers and potassium titanate fibers having conductivity.
