titleOfInvention Kainic acid-type glutamate receptor-blocking agent, AMPA-type glutamate receptor-blocking agent, cerebral protective agent, and food and drink having cerebral protective function
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a pharmaceutical, a quasi-drug, and a food and drink which are useful for preventing and treating brain diseases and dysfunctions by researching green tea components. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a kainate-type glutamate receptor-blocking agent and an AMPA-type glutamate receptor-blocking agent containing theanine as an active ingredient. Kainic acid type and A The MPA-type glutamate receptor is particularly effective in preventing and treating neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, because it is involved in the slow progress of nerve cell death among nerve cell deaths. Further, the present invention provides a brain protective agent containing a mixture of theanine and catechin as an active ingredient, and a food and drink having a brain protective function. By administering both theanine and catechin, remarkably superior effects can be enjoyed in the prevention and treatment of diseases and brain dysfunctions associated with nerve cell death, as compared to the case where each is administered alone.
