abstract |
(57) [Problem] To efficiently produce an organic compound having an oxidized group oxidized by nitric acid under milder conditions. SOLUTION: The method for producing an organic compound comprises: (i) an imide compound having a cyclic imide skeleton represented by the following formula (I) as a catalyst; and (ii) nitric acid as an oxidizing agent. The organic compound (A) having an oxidizable group to be oxidized is subjected to nitric acid oxidation to generate an organic compound having an oxidized oxidized group. The amount of nitric acid used is 1 per equivalent of the organic compound (A) having an oxidizable group. To 3 equivalents, and the amount of the imide compound used is 0.0 It may be from 01 to 0.2 equivalent.
