abstract [PROBLEMS] To have low hardness and wide nip width, Provided is a transfer roller which does not contaminate a photoreceptor or the like and has no image fluctuation (a decrease in image density, a variation in density, a hollow portion, etc.). SOLUTION: The transfer roller has at least two or more elastic layers on the outer periphery of a shaft, and the elastic layer has a non-foaming layer on the outside and at least one or more foams inside the non-foaming layer. The above problem can be solved by laminating the layers and providing a coating mainly composed of a synthetic resin component on the surface of the non-foamed layer.
