abstract (57) [PROBLEMS] To provide 3,3′-diallyl-4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone useful as a developer for a thermosensitive recording material, Provided is a method for producing 3,3′-diallyl-4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone, which has a low background fog component and can be obtained in a high yield. A method for producing 3,3'-diallyl-4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone by heat rearranging 4,4'-diallyloxydiphenyl sulfone is provided. 3,3'-diallyl-4,4 'characterized by adding 0.5 to 20 equivalents of acid to the alkali contained in 4,4'-diallyloxydiphenylsulfone and then subjecting it to heat rearrangement reaction. -A method for producing dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone.
