(57) [Problem] To provide a method for improving both water permeability and salt removal performance of an aromatic polyamide-based composite semipermeable membrane once formed. SOLUTION: A composite semipermeable membrane having an aromatic polyamide-based polymer thin film is brought into contact with a chlorine-containing aqueous solution adjusted to a pH of less than 6.0 and then brought into contact with an alkaline aqueous solution having a pH of 12 or more. A method for producing a permeable membrane, a composite semipermeable membrane produced by this method, and a composite semipermeable membrane separating element incorporating the same. |
