titleOfInvention Gastrointestinal motility test agent and method of using the same
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To be able to be taken orally without resistance, to be able to inexpensively, easily and accurately test gastrointestinal motility function, to store for a long time, and to discharge solids. The present invention provides a gastrointestinal motility function test agent suitable for the investigation of stomach and its use. An X-ray contrast agent (2) is mixed with a thermosetting dough (1) and baked to produce a solid food. The X-ray contrast agent 2 can be orally ingested deliciously without resistance. By performing simple X-ray photography over time, the movement of the thermosetting dough 1 can be grasped as the time variation of the distribution of the X-ray contrast agent 2, so that the movement of food in the digestive tract can be easily and inexpensively examined. It is possible to grasp directly and quantitatively. Since it enters the stomach as a bolus and takes a long time to digest, it is suitable for examining the gastric emptying function of solids. Since it has good storage properties, it can be kept at hospitals and the like.
