(57) [Summary] The present invention provides a process for producing machinable feldspar porcelain, including leucite. Machinability is imparted to the feldspathic porcelain by realizing uniform dispersion of the fine crystalline component comprising at least one of the following leucite phases. Leucite phases are potassium tetragonal leucite, rubidium leucite, cesium stabilized cubic leucite, rubidium stabilized cubic leucite, and porcite. Porcelain produced according to the present invention can be easily machined using available diamond tooling techniques. In addition, porcelain is particularly useful for making dental restorations using CAD / CAM technology. |
