abstract (57) [Problem] To provide an EL display device capable of clear multi-tone color display and an electric appliance including the same. An EL element provided in a pixel is provided. The gray scale display is performed by a time division driving method in which light emission and non-light emission are controlled by time to prevent the influence of the characteristic variation of the current control TFT 108. In addition, when the time-division driving method is used, the data signal side driving circuit 102 and the gate signal side driving circuit 103 are formed of a TFT having an extremely high operation speed using a silicon film having a unique crystal structure.
