abstract Abstract: An optical preform (10) comprising an optical article such as a single vision axis lens is provided with an adjacent layer (20) of partially cured resin. This adjacent layer (20) can conform to the mold (30) and, upon further curing, can change the optical properties of the preform (10). In addition, the partially cured resin layer (20) can be pre-placed on the optical article (10) prior to placing the article on the mold (30). In addition, the partially cured resin layer (20) can be previously arranged on the surface of the mold (30) before the optical article (10) is arranged on the mold (30).
