titleOfInvention Multispectral segmentation for image analysis
abstract (57) [Summary]nA method is provided for dividing a spectrally analyzed image. The first step involves collecting three images of the same microscope scene. Each image is collected using a separate narrow-band optical filter, which has the effect of selecting a narrow-band optical wavelength with respect to identifying the absorption peak in the spectrum of the stain. The choice of optical wavelength, when used to distinguish different types of cellular material on the slide surface, is guided by the resolution provided by the peak. By combining the above images in a specific mode, separation of cervical cells from the background and separation of cell nuclei from the cytoplasm can be performed with high accuracy.
