titleOfInvention Coagulated rubber latex and a method of preparing
abstract Natural and synthetic rubber latices containing emulsifiers are coagulated to form coarsely divided porous coagulates by mixing the latex with an aqueous electrolyte solution, preferably by means of a mixing nozzle, the weight ratio between the electrolyte and the solid rubber in said latex being below 1, passing the mixture of latex and electrolyte along a flow pipe, the flow in said flow pipe being laminar and the dwell time being between 2 and 20 seconds and recovering from said flow pipe a latex-free coagulate in the form of a soft porous strand. Also a mixture of butadiene/acrylonitrile and styrene/acrylonitrile latices, and mixtures of rubber latices with latices of vinyl chloride polymers may be used.
