abstract Filtration of beer, ale or mash obtained by fermenting with yeast in the presence of polymyxin alone or in addition to one or more of penicillin, bacitracin, oxytetracyeline, and streptomycin gives a solid residue containing the yeast and antibiotics which can be used as a feeding supplement with proteins from soybean and peanut meal.ALSO:Yeast fermentations are carried out in the presence of polymyxin. Between 0,005 and 0,05 gamma/ml. is present and a similar amount of penicillin may also be present. Other antibiotics e.g. bacitracin, oxytetracycline and streptomycin can also be present.
