A pharmaceutically acceptable polymeric material is formed in situ at a body surface. The polymeric material is formed by applying an anionic polymer or tripolyphosphate and a cationic polymer to the surface in the presence of water. Aqueous and dry formulations and pharmaceutical packs are described. Pharmaceutically active ingredients may be included in the formulations, which may be ingested, or sprayed on to the back of the throat or the skin. |
