titleOfInvention Semi-rigid plastic bottles
abstract 1434967 Portable containers RECHERCHE ET INDUSTRIE THERAPEUTIQUES 5 Dec 1973 [8 Dec 1972] 56306/73 Heading B8D [Also in Division A5] A semi-rigid plastics bottle for dispensing serum, blood, plasma, etc. comprises bellows folds 7, 8 and 11 extending lengthwise in two opposed side walls and across a base 6 to permit inwards collapse of the remaining pair of opposed side walls 1 and 3, and a flexible hanging handle 11 attached at its opposite ends to the opposed junctions of the sidewalls 1 and 3 with the base such that on suspending the bottle in the inverted position, the bottle weight exerts a force through the strap tending to collapse the walls 1 and 3 towards each other. The handle may be moulded integrally with the bottle or attached thereto by eyelets. The container top is provided with one or more access means, which may be in the form of sealed tubules or a neck closed by a puncturable self-sealing rubber stopper secured by metallic or plastics cap. The container is preferably of a polymer or copolymer of ethylene or propylene.
