A detergent tablet, suitable for washing machines, contains 15-45% by weight sodium nitrilotriacetate and has a fracture strength after at least one week of ageing of 7-9 kg.; the tablet is formed by compression to an initial fracture strength of 0.9-4.5 kg. (measured within 1 hour of compression) and ageing for at least one week. Other constituents of the tablet are sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, sodium toluene sulphonate, coconut monoethanolamide, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium pyrophosphate, sodium carbonate, silicate, sulphate, chloride and perborate, talc, optical whitener and water. |
