The present invention relates to a capture mass comprising a predominantly calcined aluminum oxide matrix and an active phase comprising at least copper sulphide and at least one second metal sulphide whose metal is selected from the group consisting of chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt and nickel, the ratio of the percentage by weight of the metal or metals other than copper to the percentage by weight of the copper is between 0.01 and 2, the said active phase being at least partially co-kneaded within of said calcined predominantly aluminized oxide matrix, the percentage by weight of metals of the active phase, expressed relative to the total weight of the capture mass, being between 4 and 55%, said mass being characterized by a trimodal pore size distribution. It also relates to processes for preparing said mass by co-kneading and its use in a process for capturing heavy metals in a gaseous or liquid effluent. |
