abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of chitosan by N-deacetylation of chitin in an alkaline and hot aqueous medium according to which the reaction medium comprises ethanol, an alkaline hydroxide such as sodium hydroxide in a substantially equal quantity. to the mass of water present and chitin, the proportion by mass of which varies between 7 and 30% depending on its density. The reaction temperature is between 20 and 100 degree (s) C and the time varies between 2 and 100 hours depending on the reaction temperature. |
