abstract The invention relates to a novel composition of matter exhibiting anti-viral activity. THE MATERIAL CAN BE PREPARED FOR EXAMPLE BY EXPOSING PRIMARY HUMAN EPITHELIAL DIPLOID CELLS TO A VIRUS OR CERTAIN NUCLEIC ACIDS, THEN BY INCUBATION OF THE CELLS UNDER CONDITIONS WHICH CAUSE THE FORMATION OF THE COMPOSITION WHICH IS A NEW INTERFERON. THE MATERIAL OBTAINED, DURING ANALYZES OF ITS ACTION ON CROPS OF HUMAN AND BOVINE ORIGIN, SHOWS AN ORIGINAL PROFILE OF ACTIVITY. THE MATERIAL SHOWS NO NOTABLE MUTUAL REACTIVITY WITH ANTISERUMS PREPARED WITH REFERENCE TO INTERFERONS-A, B AND G IN NEUTRALIZATION ANALYZES. APPLICATION TO THE CONTROL AGAINST INFECTIONS BY VIRUSES.
