The invention relates to novel polymeric compositions based on polytetramethylene terephthalate (PTMT). Since PTMT polymers tend to be brittle, especially at elevated temperatures and when a flame retardant is incorporated therein, this problem is substantially reduced by mixing the PTMT polymer with a second polymer which has a flexural modulus of 35 to 7000 kg / cm ** 2 and a solubility parameter which does not differ by more than 1.5, more or less, from that of the polymer PTMT, for example an ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer or a block copolymer containing polyether blocks and of polyester. The compositions are particularly useful as insulation for metal wires. |
