abstract THE INVENTION RELATES TO AN ABSORBABLE HEMOSTATIC COMPOSITION THAT CAN BE USED IN SURGERY FOR THE ARREST OF BONE BLEEDING. IT INCLUDES FROM 10 TO 50 BY WEIGHT OF HEMOSTATIC POWDER MADE FROM A MIXTURE OF FIBRIN AND COLLAGEN POWDERS IN A BIOCOMPATIBLE BASE SOLUBLE IN WATER AND CONTAINING A BONDING AGENT. PREFERABLY, THE FIBRIN AND COLLAGEN WILL BE PRESENT IN SENSITIVELY EQUAL AMOUNTS IN AN AQUEOUS GLYCOL BASE. THE FINAL PRODUCT WILL BE A SEMI-SOLID MATERIAL, ANALOGUE TO A SEALANT, CAPABLE OF BEING PACKAGED IN A SYRINGE, A SYNTHETIC WRAP OR A TUBE OF ALUMINUM TO BE EXTRUDED AS REQUIRED.
