abstract Provided are a process for the production of intermediates from which optically active cyclopropylamine derivatives (6) can be easily synthesized by a short operation without optical resolution; and such intermediates. A process for the production of optically active compounds represented by the general formula (4) or salts thereof: (4) (wherein R1 is an amino-protecting group), characterized by reacting an optically active compound represented by the general formula (3): (3) (wherein R1 is as defined above) with a reagent prepared from both a titanium(IV) reagent and an alkylmetal compound, if necessary, in the presence of a Lewis acid.
